AMIS0717 PGM 4E 0.697 g/t MG2 Bushveld South Africa
Origin of Material
A composite of ore mined at Tharisa Mine consisting of the MG2 chromitite seams and its internal waste/middling, the MG3 chromitite seam with, chromite mineralized, immediate hanging and footwall, and the MG4 chromitite seam with its internal waste. Tharisa mine is situated on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, south of Marikana and approximately 30km east of Rustenburg in the North West province. The MG2, MG3 and MG4 chromitite seams belong to the Middle Group of the Critical Zone of the Bushveld Complex.
Approximate Mineral and Chemical Composition
MG2 comprises of three chromitite layers separated by feldspathic pyroxenite. MG3 comprises of chromitite layers bounded by chromite mineralized anorthosite footwall and chromite mineralized norite hanging wall. MG4 comprises of two chromitite layers separated by a narrow norite parting.
