Origin of Material
Tharisa mine is situated on the south-western limb of the Bushveld Complex, south of Marikana and approximately 30km east of Rustenburg in the Northwest province. The MG1 (collected material) chromitite seams and immediate hanging and footwall belong to the Middle Group of the Critical Zone of the Bushveld Complex.
