AMIS0394 Cr 47.58% LX Witkop Bushveld South Africa
Origin of Material: This standard was made using WKP LX grade material supplied by Glencore Xstrata plc from the Witkop Chrome Mine. The mine is situated on the Western Limb of the Bushveld Complex 12km south east of Rustenburg in the North West Province of South Africa.

Mineral and Chemical Composition: The alloy has main phases of (Cr,Fe)7C3, (Cr,Fe)23C6, traces(Fe,Cr)3C carbides, Cr containing α-Fe, Cr-Si and traces of S, P, along with minor (<0,5%) amounts of Mn, V, Ti – all species are present in alloy form.
